A conference on the theme «Tasks of establishing customs duties and its legal framework»

Today at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan a conference was held on the theme “The Tasks of Establishing Customs Payments and Its Legal Basis”. The conference was organized by the Department of Customs Payments of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in accordance with the approved plan of scientific activities of the Service.

The conference was attended by personnel of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Adalat of Turkmenistan, representatives of public organizations, entrepreneurs.

During the event, presentations were made by the participants of the conference. In their presentations, the participants noted the importance of establishing the legal framework for customs payments, the international practice of establishing customs payments, the establishment of customs payments for agricultural products, and also spoke about the importance of digitalization in the development of the national economy, and the possibilities for calculating customs payments of an integrated information customs system "ASYCUDA World".

In accordance with the Customs Code of Turkmenistan, customs duties include customs duties, taxes, customs duties.

Taxes include excise taxes, the collection of which in accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan is imposed on the customs authorities of Turkmenistan when goods are imported into the customs territory of Turkmenistan;

Customs duty is a type of customs payment that is paid to the customs authorities of Turkmenistan when goods are imported into the customs territory of Turkmenistan or goods are exported from a specified territory and is an essential condition for such imports or exports.

Customs duties are set in order to stimulate local producers, protect their interests regarding the competitiveness of the goods they produce, as well as regulate trade in the domestic market.

Participants emphasized the important role of the conference for inter-agency cooperation.
