From 24 to 26 June 2025, the first in-person module of the regional Training Programme on Digital Trade and Multimodal Transport took place in Tashkent. The event brought together representatives of customs and transport authorities from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Two staff members from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan participated in the training, representing areas of digitalization and international cooperation.
The training was conducted within the framework of the regional project “Trade Facilitation in Central Asia”, implemented with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Participants learned about international UN/CEFACT standards, electronic transport documents (eTIR, eCMR, eFBL, etc.), modern digital data exchange formats, and business process modeling.
Special attention was given to the Multimodal Transport Reference Data Model, which enables integration of various transport modes into a single system and simplifies cross-border data exchange. The acquired knowledge will help countries in the region implement digital solutions and build more efficient logistics corridors.
