On 11 February 2026, a national coordination meeting within the framework of the Global Programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on Passenger and Cargo Control was held at the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The main purpose of the event was to review the progress of the Programme’s implementation in Turkmenistan in 2025, identify priority needs of national agencies, and agree on cooperation plans for the first half of 2026.

The delegation of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan was headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Service. The UNODC side was represented by the Regional Programme Coordinator, Mr. Sardor Atashikov.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of further strengthening interagency cooperation in the field of passenger and cargo control, exchanged views on practical aspects of the Programme’s implementation, and identified priority areas of cooperation for the upcoming period.
