From 10 to 19 June 2025, a comprehensive training seminar on risk management in customs operations was held at the headquarters of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The event was organized within the framework of the “Programme for the Development of the Customs Authorities of Turkmenistan for 2022–2028”, initiated and guided by the esteemed President of Turkmenistan. The Programme promotes digitalization, modernization of control systems, and alignment with international standards in customs administration.
The seminar was conducted with the participation of international experts from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) — Grigore Waranita and Dorin Purise, citizens of the Republic of Moldova with long-standing experience in the use of the “ASYCUDA” automated customs system, in operation in Moldova since 2005.
Throughout the seminar, participants explored modern methods of risk management, data analysis for customs profiling, and integration of digital tools to enhance efficiency and control at border checkpoints.
On 19 June, the seminar concluded with a final assessment of participants’ knowledge, where officers of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan demonstrated a high level of professional competence.
This training initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening institutional capacity, promoting international best practices, and advancing digital transformation in the customs sector of Turkmenistan.
