Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip around the capital, being acquainted with the progress of work carried out on the territory of the Makhtumkuli Fragi cultural and park complex, the construction of which is in the final stage.

In recent years, a unique urban landscape has been formed here, in the south of Ashgabat, against the picturesque foothills of Kopetdag, organically combining high-rise buildings erected according to exclusive projects, modern road transport infrastructure and massive forest park zones.

An important place in the large-scale urban planning policy is given to the development of the main city of our sunny Motherland with a long-term perspective.

The updated appearance of the Turkmen capital, recognized as the pearl of Central Asia, clearly reflects the progressive dynamics of the socio-economic progress of the Motherland, its multifaceted potential, rich history and cultural traditions of our people.

White marble Ashgabat is constantly growing with new architectural ensembles and well-maintained residential areas built as part of the work to improve the social standard of living of the population. Year after year, the main city of the country expands its borders, admiring by its unique beauty, for which it has been awarded many international certificates. The recognition of the high quality of the objects being built here became the inclusion of a number of them in the Guinness Book of Records.

The list of numerous attractions of our capital, which is increasingly strengthening its position as one of the most beautiful and comfortable cities on the planet, will be supplemented by the cultural and park complex of Makhtumkuli Fragi, the great humanist and thinker of the East.

Early in the morning, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived at the majestic monument, which is a symbol of the great love of the Turkmen people for the outstanding master of the word, and got acquainted with the progress of work on the landscaping of the adjacent territory.

The harmonious combination of urban and natural landscapes, the formation of green zones are important factors in ensuring the ecological well-being of the capital, optimal living conditions for people, that is why landscaping and turning this unique corner into a blooming garden are in the spotlight.

Deputy Prime Minister Ch.Purchekov reported to the country’s President on the progress of work on the construction site, practical steps being taken to landscape the territory.

The head of state was shown the layout and general view of the Makhtumkuli Fragi cultural and park complex, which a land area of 41 hectares was allocated for.

Then the projects of the monument of the classic of Turkmen literature, which left an indelible mark in world history, were presented.

The height of the sculpture, installed on a natural hill, is 60 meters, and the height of the pedestal is 25 meters.

Variants of the wall painting proposed for placement on the monument of Makhtumkuli Fragi, as well as lighting systems were offered to the attention of the head of state.

Noting the importance of the use of innovative technologies in the cultural and park complex, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the need of using modern lighting equipment, with help of which it will be possible to flash on the winged lines from the poems of the Great Fragi, known to all progressive mankind, placed on the hills, and assigned to approach the successful solution of the tasks responsibly and comprehensively.

The head of state was shown sketches of the external entrance to the Makhtumkuli Fragi cultural and park complex, fountains, recreation areas and gazebos, parking lots.

A variant of the reconstruction of the fountain-sculpture composition along Archabil Avenue was also shown.

Having familiarized himself with the general view of the Makhtumkuli Fragi cultural and park complex and the drawings presented, the country’s President focused the attention of the relevant leaders on the issues of its landscaping and planting of greenery and ordered proper control over the maintenance of cleanliness in the vast territory adjacent to the composition.

Having examined the types of green spaces – seedlings of thuja, acacia, cypress and other deciduous trees, the head of state emphasized that all the objects erected here should create a unified harmony with the amazing nature of the Kopetdag foothills. It was emphasized that when creating forest zones in this area, it is necessary to take into account weather and natural conditions.

Upon completion of familiarization with the layouts and drawings, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov headed to the foot of the towering monument. Climbing the stairs, the head of state appreciated their convenience and comfort.

As it was noted, it is necessary to continue to pay increased attention to the active application of modern best practices and innovative methods in construction, the use of exceptionally high-quality, durable materials resistant to the effects of local climatic conditions.

Addressing the Deputy Prime Minister Ch.Purchekov, the head of Turkmenistan underlined the need for widespread use in the design of buildings and structures under construction of a unique color scheme inherent in the national flavor.

Noting that the arrangement of the territory adjacent to the sculpture of Makhtumkuli Fragi, being famous in the world for his magnificent works calling for friendship, courage, love for the Fatherland, should reflect the latest architectural trends, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed a number of specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister regarding the completion of the construction of the facility with high quality and within the strictly established deadlines.

Addressing Deputy Prime Minister E.Orazgeldiev, the head of state focused on the issues of landscaping and planting of greenery of the new cultural and park complex territory. As noted, trees of various breeds adapted to the local climate should be planted here, which are designed to ensure the ecological well-being of this unique natural corner of Ashgabat. Having ordered to carry out control over landscaping works, the President of the country gave specific instructions in this regard.

Having climbed to the platform at the foot of the grandiose monument of Makhtumkuli Fragi, which offers a beautiful view of the white marble capital, the head of state noted with satisfaction the tremendous work done in recent years. The appearance of the main city of our country, which has changed beyond recognition, is a visible confirmation of the successful implementation of the comprehensive transformative programs initiated by Arkadag.

The majestic cultural and park complex erected in the foothills of Kopetdag should be buried in greenery, becoming a reflection of the universal love and veneration of the outstanding genius of the illustrious son of the Turkmen people, whose work is still known and appreciated throughout the world today and centuries later.

Noting this fact, the head of state focused the attention of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R.Meredov on the need to hold various events in the country and abroad in order to popularize the literary heritage of Makhtumkuli the Great, as well as expand international relations and cultural ties this year, which is held under the deeply symbolic motto “The Epoch of the People with Arkadag”.

The dreams and aspirations of the poet-philosopher Makhtumkuli about a sovereign state, freedom and humanism have come true in our current beautiful epoch. Imbued with deep wisdom and perfect in the content of the poems of thinker Fragi are of great importance in inspiring our citizens to work conscientiously and achieve great goals, educating young people in the spirit of patriotism. The vast, ocean-like poetic world of Makhtumkuli has become an exemplary creative school for our masters of artistic expression, singers and musicians.

Currently, special importance is attached to the in-depth study and wide popularization of the rich literary heritage of Makhtumkuli Fragi, and the glorification of his name. To honor the philosopher Fragi means to glorify literature and the heritage of the nation. His artistic work, which is a combination of philosophical principles, spiritual views and secular views, is a unique school. The Turkmen people, who gave the world a great genius, can rightfully be proud of their thinkers and poets.

Makhtumkuli Fragi is a shining star of classical literature, the golden age of national poetry, one of the unshakable literary pillars of the Turkmen people, who are characterized by benevolence, peacefulness, openness, breadth and generosity of soul.

Valuable ahds, principles of Makhtumkuli about a sovereign state form the basis of the state policy of the modern epoch.

Soaring buildings, harmoniously combined with the natural features of this picturesque corner of the city, create a fascinating picture in its beauty.

Environmental protection, careful attitude to nature, preservation of its riches for future generations, introduction of the principles and technologies of the green economy are the priorities of the state policy of Turkmenistan.

Evidence of the world recognition of our country’s achievements in the field of ecology and environmental protection was the awarding of an International Certificate to the city of Ashgabat for assistance and contribution to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Trees in Cities Challenge through landscaping actions.

On the initiative of Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, more than 145 million tree seedlings have been planted in Turkmenistan for many years. Contributing to the formation of special climatic zones, it also serves as a positive environmental and climatic factor in the region.

As a result of the large-scale work carried out, picturesque green and forest zones have been created in and around Ashgabat, the territories of which are increasing every year.

The true decoration of the white marble Turkmen capital, rightfully recognized as a garden city, are wonderful parks and squares, delighting the eye with a variety of trees and ornamental shrubs, emerald lawns and bright flower garden ornaments.

Similar work within the framework of the National Forest Program is being carried out in all regions of Turkmenistan. In different parts of the country, man-made forests and forest park zones have already spread over vast territories. By transforming the natural landscapes of the Motherland, they contribute to the preservation and enrichment of local flora and fauna.

In addition, green belts reliably protect settlements from summer heat, dust and strong winds, promote the prevention of land degradation, and, most importantly, form a microclimate favorable to human health.

Then Deputy Prime Minister M.Mammedova reported on the preparations for the festive events in honor of the grand opening of the complex, planned as part of the annual Week of Culture on the occasion of the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi.

Noting that the opening of this large-scale cultural and park complex will be a kind of prologue to the grandiose celebrations in honor of the upcoming 300th anniversary of the great poet and philosopher of the East in 2024, the head of state commissioned the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure control over the preparations for all scheduled events that should be held at a high organizational level.

The monument should be beautiful and elegant, like the exemplary lyrics of Makhtumkuli Fragi itself, the head of state highlighted, assigning the audience to follow these principles in the work being carried out.
