From February 29 to March 1, 2024 customs officers took part in national training for Turkmenistan law enforcement officials involved in profiling potential human traffickers and smugglers. The event was organized by the European Union (EU) Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia - Phase 10 (BOMCA 10), in partnership with the Law Enforcement in Central Asia (LEICA) program.

Experts from the State Border Guard Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania and LEICA presented relevant risk indicators, as well as risk profiles and analytical products related to the identification and detection of potential human traffickers and migrant smugglers.

Participants were introduced to EU profiling practices using IT tools. Based on the results of the workshop, a booklet was developed with the main risk profiles and risk indicators.
