From June 30 to July 2, 2025, a regional event in the format of the Peer Learning Initiative was held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, organized by the International Trade Centre (ITC) with the support of the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova. The delegation of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, consisting of three representatives, took part in the event. The event was organized within the framework of the “Ready4Trade Central Asia” project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the ITC.

The main focus of the event was to study best practices in cooperation with trusted traders and the implementation of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programs. These programs play a significant role in facilitating international trade and increasing the efficiency of customs procedures.

The regional event brought together representatives of customs authorities and the private sector from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as Moldova and Turkey. Participants exchanged experiences on modernizing customs administration, creating favorable business conditions, and expanding private sector involvement in AEO programs.

As part of the event, a separate session was held with the participation of Moldovan companies certified as AEOs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the session, participants received a detailed overview of the Republic of Moldova’s experience in implementing the AEO program.
